What should I know about my coverage?
Your coverage is limited to the protection options selected when your contract was purchased. Your Vehicle Service Contract contains the specific terms, covered components, limitations, and responsibilities that apply.
Here are several important areas to review:
- Section 2 — Vehicle Service Contract Coverage
Identifies the coverage options selected for your vehicle. - General Provisions — Agreement Period and Coverage Limitations
Explains the applicable coverage period and limits of liability. - Coverages and Covered Components
Details the specific components included under your selected coverage. - Limitations and Exclusions — Maintenance Requirements
Explains vehicle maintenance responsibilities, including maintaining the vehicle according to OEM standards.
Section names and numbering may vary by agreement. Always refer to your specific contract for the terms that apply to your vehicle.
Help! I've had a breakdown. What do I do now?
If your truck experiences a mechanical breakdown, follow these steps:
- Stop operating your vehicle safely. Continuing to drive could cause additional damage.
- Find a repair facility. Sign in to the NTP-P2K Portal to locate nearby Preferred Repair Providers (PRPs) and Certified Repair Facilities.
- Consider other qualified repair options if needed. If an NTP network facility is not nearby, you may use an OEM or ASE-certified facility. Confirm the facility can service your vehicle and work directly with NTP.
- Inform the repair facility about your coverage. Let them know you have an NTP Vehicle Service Contract and confirm they can participate in the claims process.
- Contact NTP before approving repairs. Report the claim and follow NTP's authorization instructions.
- Authorize diagnosis of the failure. Allow the repair facility to inspect your vehicle and determine the cause of the problem.
Important: Prior authorization from NTP is required before covered repairs begin. Do not authorize repairs without NTP approval.
What's the difference between a Preferred Repair Provider (PRP) and a Certified Repair Facility?
Preferred Repair Providers (PRPs)
PRPs offer additional advantages that may help simplify the claims and repair experience, including:
- Discounted repair pricing, with potential savings passed along to the customer when applicable.
- Faster claim approvals due to familiarity with NTP's processes.
- Automated approvals on select eligible claims.
Certified Repair Facilities
Certified facilities are authorized to complete repairs under applicable NTP Vehicle Service Contracts, but they do not necessarily offer the same additional benefits as PRPs.
NTP does not guarantee repairs completed by Certified Repair Facilities.
How do I add the Claims Portal or Service Locator to my phone?
You can save the NTP-P2K Portal to your phone's home screen for convenient access.
Apple iPhone
- Open the portal in Safari.
- Tap the Share button.
- Select "Add to Home Screen" (you may need to scroll).
- Choose a name and tap "Add."
Android
- Open the portal in Chrome.
- Tap the three-dot menu.
- Select "Add to Home screen."
- Name the shortcut and tap "Add."
Once added, you can access the portal directly from your phone's home screen.
I've filed a claim. How does the process work?
Once the repair facility submits the required documentation, NTP reviews the claim to determine whether the reported failure qualifies for coverage under your contract.
We understand that downtime affects your business and work to review claims as efficiently as possible. Processing times may vary based on the complexity of the failure and when all required documentation is received.
What happens when repairs are completed?
- Your applicable deductible is paid directly to the repair facility when repairs are completed.
- You are responsible for any charges that are not covered under your contract.
- A deductible generally applies to each new claim, as outlined in your agreement.
